It was a big decision to ''move'' the ParkoLuna event to the south , at Kalavrita Ski Center 600km away from our base. On the 5 hours’ drive down there we had long conversation with Socratis Bounovas –Ground Edit Parks , Vasilis-Tsitas Koutlemanis (Omixlh Crew) and Yoakim about the set up plan.
Fortunately the resort manager Leonidas Spyropoulos and employees were quite helpful and we manage to finish the set up. Kid’s race, and “water slide” in less than 12 hours.
Sunday morning and we didn’t expect such an enthusiasm from the kids when they show up for the event and enjoyed the first laps.
It was tough decision for the Judges (Dimitris Liosis and Antonis David) to pick up the winners but at the end Nikos Karageorgiou showed very good technique, style and speed combination and got the first place followed by his friend Rotsos Petros . Third place went to the youngest participant Aronis Jason (5 years old)
A great appearance from the11years old Tsiros Jim (not in the competition) who compete next day at the Slopestyle event at Men’s division and proved that he is part of the future of Greek snowboarding
The rest of the ''big kids'' couldn’t wait to finish the TSG Kids race and get into the course for some fun rides.
From the water side Dimitris put the ‘final touch’ to the kicker at the exit of the water slide and open the “NEFF water slide challenge”
A couple hours later and after the lift closure there was still a lot of action both on the kids race track and water slide where at the best trick contest, winner was Andreas Zethon.
A great day to remember came to an end and the kids/parents, the riders as well as the audience were really exhausted but satisfied from the 1stkids snowboard race in Greece.
